• Symbolism: The white saltire represents the cross of Saint Andrew, the patron saint of Scotland. According to legend, the design appeared in the sky to King Óengus II of the Picts before a 9th-century battle.

Scottish Standard (The Lion Rampant)

• Design: Officially known as the Royal Banner of the Royal Arms of Scotland. It features a striking design of a red lion rampant (with blue claws and tongue) within a double red border adorned with alternating heraldic lilies (fleurs-de-lis), all set against a vibrant yellow (gold) field.
• Symbolism: This is a powerful and ancient heraldic symbol of the Scottish monarchy, embodying strength, valor, courage, and nobility.
